The Women’s Solidarity Weeks is an annual socio-educational initiative created by women, for women. In 2025, the project featured a dynamic series of events, including International Women’s Day actions, two festivals with lectures and workshops, and two major art exhibitions. Here’s a closer look at the key highlights. 👇
Two actions were held to mark International Women’s Day.
The first began at 9:00 AM with a national moment of silence in Kharkiv city center. Participants carried portraits of fallen female defenders alongside Ukrainian and feminist flags. The commemoration occurred under the slogan: “Glory to the Heroines!”
Following the tribute, participants marched along Sumska Street, displaying posters on “festive” installations set up by the city council. The gesture was intended to underscore that, in wartime, women’s safety must take precedence over symbolic decorations.
One of the most memorable aspects of the action was the support from passers-by — even security personnel assisted in hanging the posters.
The Job Fair attracted over a hundred amazing women eager to explore new career opportunities.
Six organisations and businesses participated, including the “Yapiko” restaurant chain, “EVA” retail network, PrivatBank, “ChudoMarket” retail chain, the Kharkiv Employment Centre, and the NGO “Army +1”.
Some of the businesses conducted more than 90 interviews with visitors. Dozens of women received a business photo from the photographer Krystyna Pashkina.
The photo session was supported by Sweden and the Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation.
This event was funded by The United Nations Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) with technical support of UN Women Ukraine. The United Nations Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) mobilizes critical support for local and grassroots civil society organizations working on women, peace and security and humanitarian action. WPHF is a flexible and rapid financing mechanism supporting quality interventions designed to enhance the capacity of women to prevent conflict, respond to crises and emergencies, and seize key peacebuilding opportunities.
A recovery day was organised for women at PrideHub, featuring wellness workshops and educational sessions on women’s sexuality, nutrition, and stress management.
Among the favourites is a talk on libido by sex educator Yuliya Yarmolenko, and the iconic feminist doughnuts provided by bakery “Kaplychka.”
The event was held with the support of the Ukrainian Women’s Fund.
In collaboration with the video production platform “Palay”, a powerful series of videos was created, resonating with thousands of women.

The team shared their upcoming plans for March and discussed the current challenges that women face in the Kharkiv region.
Together with the “Nema” playback theater, we explored the duality of the female role and dropped stereotypes about masculinity and fragility.
The exhibition includes a collection of headscarves that tell the stories of 12 civilian heroines who are making a difference in their respective fields.
Among them are yesterday's schoolgirls and women who already have grandchildren. All of them are different, but it doesn't matter who you are, how old you are, what you do or where you are now - what matters is that you choose to act!

The works of 21 artists were collected in the space of the PrideHub. The exhibition aims to make the quiet voices of women louder, to give them more visibility in the socio-cultural space. This event was later even mentioned in Forbes.
The Women’s Solidarity Weeks 2025 have officially come to a close. Together with the friends and allies, we reflected on March's events and their impact on us.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to UN Women in Ukraine, WPHF, Ukrainian Women’s Fund, Kvinna till Kvinna, International Renaissance Foundation, ActionAid, and Danida.
Your support made it all possible — thank you.
